Huntsville Museum
of Art
Home to over a 2,500-piece collection, the Huntsville
Museum of Art is one of Alabama's finest visual arts
centers.
Though the museum organizes many exhibitions of its own art, it
is primarily a home for traveling exhibitions, both on a regional
and national scale. Several hundred exhibitions visit the museum
each year, each with its own very unique collection. The exhibitions
feature all styles of art, from contemporary paintings and
sculptures, to modern forms of photography and drawings. There is
sure to be something that will catch your eye.
In recent times the museum has hosted such exhibitions as,
Animals in Art, featuring a wide variety of sculptures, paintings,
and other forms of art featuring an array of animal life. In
addition to the realistic side of the animal kingdom, the museum
also hosted several imaging art works, all encompassing this
fantastic and unique exhibit.
If you enjoy the unique exhibits and paintings of the Huntsville
Museum of Art, then you should also plan a visit to the
Weeden House Museum.
Home to nationally famous poet and artist, Maria Howard Weeden, a
large portion of her life's work is on display throughout the rooms
of this elegant
southern
antebellum home.
